Measurement of the branching fractions ${\tau }^{\mathrm{-}}$→${\rho }^{\mathrm{-}}$${\nu }_{\tau }$ and ${\tau }^{\mathrm{-}}$→$K^{\mathrm{-}}$${\nu }_{\tau }$

We have measured the branching fraction of ${\tau }^{\mathrm{-}}$→${\rho }^{\mathrm{-}}$${\nu }_{\tau }$ to be (22.3±0.6±1.4)% and the branching fraction of ${\tau }^{\mathrm{-}}$→$K^{\mathrm{*}\mathrm{-}}$${\nu }_{\tau }$ to be (1.3±0.3±0.3)%. These values are consistent with the expectations for conventional decays of the τ.
