Unexpected, Intermediate Structure at High Level Densities in Mg24

Abstract

Excitation functions of the reaction B10(N14, α)Ne20 near the Coulomb barrier reveal clearly correlated cross-section structure in different α-particle channels. This indicates intermediate structure which had never been observed in the interaction of two nonidentical, odd-odd nuclei at such high level densities.
