Energy Displacement of Dipole Isodoublets

Abstract

The difference in energy between the two isospin components of the giant dipole resonance in a nucleus with nonvanishing neutron excess is studied. An estimate is presented where this difference is expressed as a function of the mass number and the ground-state isospin of the nucleus.
