Abstract
The strong decays of charm-strange baryons up to shell are studied in a chiral quark model. The theoretical predictions for the well-determined charm-strange baryons, , , and , are in good agreement with the experimental data. This model is also extended to analyze the strong decays of the other newly observed charm-strange baryons , , , , and . Our predictions are given as follows: (i) might be the first orbital () excitation of with and favors the or state. (ii) might correspond to two overlapping excitations of . The broader resonance with a mass observed in the final state is most likely to be the state, while the narrower resonance with a mass observed in the channel is most likely to be the state. (iii) could be classified as the , i.e., the first radial () excitation of . (iv) is most likely to be the second orbital () excitation of with and favors the state. (v) might be assigned to the , , or state. As a byproduct, we calculate the strong decays of the bottom baryons , , and , which are in good agreement with the recent observations as well.
