Abstract
We investigate the exclusive semileptonic decay modes →K, and B→D, in a field-theoretic framework based on the independent quark model with a scalar-vector-harmonic potential. Our predictions for the relevant form factors and their dependence are in reasonable agreement with the expectations of HQET and those of several other models. We predict that the decay width ratio and the polarization ratio for decays are Γ(→)/Γ(→)=0.68 and (→)/(→)=0.52 and those for B decays are Γ(B→)/Γ(B→)=1.87 and (B→)/(B→)=0.77, respectively. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
