Abstract
We present a parametrization of the group SU(3) in which matrix elements are sums of trigonometric functions. We express the generators as differential operators in our parameters and use them to construct higher irreducible representations in terms of our parametrization. We also give the group measure and point out how the parametrization can be used in a heat-bath simulation of SU(3) lattice gauge theory.
