Abstract

A search has been made for the He6+He6 and α + He8 decay of the molecular rotational band in Be12 using the Be10(C14,Be12*)C12 reaction at 88.5 MeV. Although the α + He6 decay of Be10 was observed in the data set there is no evidence for the breakup of Be12. The cross-section upper limits for the Be10(C14,He6 He6)C12 and Be10(C14He8)C12 reactions are 50 and 300 nb respectively.
