Abstract

The high spin structures in Nb86 are analyzed using the cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky model. Energy versus spin curves as well as deformations and electric transition quadrupole moments are considered. It is concluded that different single-particle parameters compared with the standard values lead to better agreement with recent experimental results.
