Search for spontaneous collinear tripartition of 252Cf nuclei

Abstract

Double arm spectrometer SAVEC has been used to identify spontaneous collinear tripartition of 252Cf nuclei: M0Z0M1Z1+M3Z3+M2Z2. No effect has been observed for M3>75u at the level of 7.5×106 with respect to the probability of the binary fission process.
