Abstract
It is suggested that the study of the nuclear deexcitation rays emitted following capture may help clarify the nature of the capture mechanism. We consider capture in and . Capture rates to the various proton or neutron single-hole states in , , , and are estimated, and the consequences of capture to the isomeric states in and are discussed.
