Abstract

Four rotational band sequences have been established in the doubly odd Cs128 nucleus via the Sn120(11B,3) reaction. One band shows the characteristic features for the πh11/2⊗νh11/2 configuration which has systematically been observed in doubly odd nuclei throughout the A∼130 mass region. Triaxial cranked shell-model calculations have been performed to assist in the assignment of quasiparticle configurations to the other bands.
