Abstract

A large discrepancy is found between the value for the integrated total photonuclear cross section for O16 determined from the sum of the partial cross sections and that obtained from a total photon absorption measurement.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS O16(γ, tot:Eγ), (γ, partial:Eγ): integrated cross sections; sum rule; meson-exchange factor K, A dependence.
