Spin and parity of the 6.699 MeV level in ${}_{}{}^{17}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{F}$

${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$($\overrightarrow{p}$,$p$)${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ measurements near $E_p=6.482\mathrm{}$ MeV and phase shift analysis of the data permits an unambiguous $J^{\pi }=\frac{5}{2^{+}}$ assignment to the narrow level at $E_x\left({}_{}{}^{17}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{F}\right)=6.699\mathrm{}$ MeV that was previously listed as $\frac{3}{2^{-}}$. The level parameters suggest correspondence to a predicted 5p-4h state at $E_x=5.91\mathrm{}$ MeV in $A=17\mathrm{}$ nuclei.
