Abstract
Cross sections for the reaction leading to the states at 15.1 MeV () and 12.7 MeV () were measured at a bombarding energy of 402 MeV. These data, covering a range of momentum transfer from 0.45 to 2.65 () provide a test of the effects, precursor to a pion condensate, predicted to be important for the state near . The cross sections for the two states are very similar for large , perhaps indicating that the precursor effects are small.
