Abstract
A detection system has been developed and used to investigate the (, ) reaction at bombarding energies of 55 and 65 MeV on targets of , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , and . Preferential population of two-neutron states with dominant , , and character was observed. A linear dependence of the binding energies of the states was obtained. This systematic behavior is well described by the Bansal-French model, using the parameters MeV and MeV. Simple shell-model calculations for the configurations are in good agreement with the experimental data.
