Strength of the resonance of the C13(α,n)O16 reaction at Eα=1055.63 keV

Abstract

The strength of the narrow resonance of the C13(α,n)O16 reaction at Eα=1055.63 keV is determined to be 16.9±0.4(stat)±1.7(sys) eV. The resonance strength and the cross section in the vicinity of the resonance are used to reconcile inconsistencies of past measurements. Our normalization factors agree with the recommendation of the ENDF/B-VIII.0 evaluation and the CIELO project. The sum of the resonance strengths of the two narrow resonances around Eα=1336 keV is also determined to be 57.3±4.8(stat)±5.7(sys) eV.
