Abstract
The long-unknown crystal structure of the high pressure phase scandium-II was solved by powder x-ray diffraction and was found to have tetragonal host channels along the axis and guest chains that are incommensurate with the host, as well as the high pressure phases of , , , and . The pressure dependences of the lattice constants, the incommensurability, the atomic distances, and the atomic volume were investigated.
