Abstract
We report theoretical and experimental core-level x-ray-photoemission spectra of and . Estimates are obtained for the core-hole–5f Coulomb interaction (∼5 eV) and the strength of the 5f–conduction-band hybridization ( eV). It is found that the shape of the occupied conduction-band density of states influences the shape of the core-level spectrum qualitatively.
