Abstract
Onset behavior of diffusion generated by a chaotic motion of a one-particle system in a sinusoidal potential, driven by a time-dependent external field, is investigated, especially near the Pomeau-Manneville intermittency transition. It is numerically found that the diffusion coefficient diverges as the system approaches the intermittency transition. A possible interpretation of such anomalous enhancement of the diffusion coefficient is proposed in connection with the appearance of a temporally long coherence of the phase point.
