Abstract
New data have been obtained on the hyperfine structure of several lines of barium. These have been studied in the attempt to determine more definitely the nuclear moment of the odd isotopes of barium, reported as 2½ by Kruger, Gibbs and Williams, and as 1½ by Schüler and by Murakawa. Studies of the separation of the and components from the center of gravity, and of the spacing and patterns of the and terms all lead to the conclusion that is the correct value of nuclear moment.
