Abstract

We investigate the influence of the Coulombic nature of the binding potential on high-order harmonic generation in H2+ molecules. We show that two-center interference effects are predicted accurately using approximated two-center Coulomb wave functions for the electron continuum state in the recombination amplitude that determines the probability for harmonic emission upon recollision.
