Doorway states and pre-equilibrium reactions

Abstract

A quantum foundation is developed for the methods employed in the calculation of the pre-equilibrium component of the energy spectrum of nuclear reaction products. It involves the application of the statistical theory of nuclear reactions to chained doorway states.
