Abstract

A survey of the existing data on the shapes of β-ray spectra is given, mostly from the experimental point of view. The majority of the empirical facts accumulated during the past 12 years is repoduced in tables. The problems of Fierz-type and energy-proportional deviations, time reversal, pseudoscalar-type interaction, conservation of vector and axial-vector currents, and neutrino degerenacy are treated.
