Abstract
Using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have observed the meson in annihilation at the resonance. We find 14 candidates consistent with decays into final states with a or a . The probability that we have observed a background fluctuation is less than . We have established that at the energy of the resonance production proceeds predominantly through the creation of pairs. We find , and set the following limits: and (90% C.L.). The mass of the meson is measured to be .
