Observation of the Radiative Decay ${\mathit{D}}^{*+}\to {\mathit{D}}^{+}\gamma$

We have observed a signal for the decay $D^{*+}\to D^{+}\gamma$ at a significance of 4 standard deviations. From the measured branching ratio $B(D^{*+}\to D^{+}\gamma )/B(D^{*+}\to D^{+}{\pi }^0)=0.055\mathrm{}\pm 0.014\pm 0.010$ we find $B(D^{*+}\to D^{+}\gamma )=0.017\mathrm{}\pm 0.004\pm 0.003,$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We also report the highest precision determination of the remaining $D^{*+}$ branching fractions.
