Abstract

The decay τKηντ has been observed with the CLEO II detector. The η meson is reconstructed using two decay channels, ηγγ and π+ππ0. The measured branching fraction is B(τKηντ)=(2.6±0.5±0.4)×104, somewhat higher than theoretical estimates. An improved upper limit for the second-class-current decay τπηντ is set, B(τπηντ)<1.4×104 at 95% C.L., consistent with theoretical expectations.
