Abstract

We present an analytic wave function describing a spin-singlet incompressible fluid of electrons confined to a single Landau level, which exhibits a half-integral quantum Hall effect. Our numerical studies suggest that this state may be responsible for the recently observed effect with ν=(5/2. .AE
