Mechanism for understanding small neutrino mass in superstring theories

We propose a new mechanism for understanding small neutrino masses in supersymmetric theories without unnatural fine tuning of parameters. This idea may be useful for superstring ${\mathrm{E}}_6$ models, where the conventional mechanism is not available for suppressing neutrino masses.
