Modification of the Newton Method for the Inverse-Scattering Problem at Fixed Energy

Abstract

The method of Newton for the solution of the inverse-scattering problem is modified with the assumption that the potential is known for radial distances r>r0. The modified method is improved by applying a least-squares method.
