Abstract

An E2 or M1 resonance is observed in the reaction Pb208(p,γ0γ1γ2)Bi209 at Ep20.0 MeV (Ex23.7 MeV) with a width Γ3.5 MeV. Present evidence supports its identification as a collective E2 excitation.
