Abstract
A new method is proposed to carry out the angular-momentum projection from a given intrinsic wave function. The method is based on the construction of a generating function for the various powers of the step-up and step-down operators and a property of Lie algebra. It has the advantage that no integrations over the Euler angles have to be performed.
