Abstract

A classical solution for electromagnetic monopoles induced by gravitational (global) monopoles in the presence of a (four-dimensional) Kalb-Ramond axion field is found. The magnetic charge of such a solution is induced by a nonzero Kalb-Ramond field strength, prevalent in string theory. Bounds from the current run of the LHC experiments are used to constrain the parameters of the model. Because the production mechanism depends on the details of the model and its ultraviolet completion, such bounds, presently, are only indicative.
