$P$-wave $\pi \pi$ elastic scattering phase shift, ${\delta }_1(E_{\mathrm{cm}})$, determined from solution of Eq. (7) in Ref. [1] applied to the finite-volume spectra shown in Fig. 1 under the assumption that ${\delta }_{\ell >1}=0$. The energy region plotted is from $\pi \pi$ threshold to $K\overline{K}$ threshold.
