Abstract

We investigate a possible background of the type Ωc0Ξc+π to the CLEO Ξc+ lifetime measurement. This decay mode may lead to an overestimate of the Ξc+ decay length and, therefore, increase the measured Ξc+ lifetime. The branching ratio Γ(Ωc0Ξc+π)/Γ(Ωc0Ωπ+) is analyzed in the framework of the pole model and the modified current algebra. We find that the Ωc0Ξc+π decay mode could not generate a substantial systematic error in the Ξc+ lifetime measurement.
