Abstract
We calculate the production probability of an pair in a strong rotating magnetic field. After deriving some selection rules concerning the states in which the pair can be created and their connection with the time variation of the magnetic field, we conclude that for pair production the change of direction of the magnetic field is a much more efficient mechanism than the change of its strength.
