Abstract

The structure of the Cauchy horizon of a charged rotating black hole is analyzed under the combined effect of an ingoing and outgoing flux of gravitational waves. In particular, by means of an axisymmetric realization of the Ori model, the growth of the mass parameter near the Cauchy horizon is studied in the slow rotation approximation. It is shown that the mass parameter inflates, while the angular momentum per unit mass deflates, but initial deviations from spherical symmetry survive. © 1996 The American Physical Society.
