Recalculation of the Crossed-Graph Contribution to the Fourth-Order Lamb Shift

Abstract

This paper reports an analytic calculation of the "crossed"-graph contribution to the fourth-order radiative correction of the slope of the Dirac form factor of the free-electron vertex at zero momentum transfer. The result, m2F1(0)=α2π2[1336lnλ2+411864π2+712π2ln2+3138ζ(3)921891728]=α2π2(1336lnλ2+2.3659) [where ζ(3) is the Riemann ζ function of argument 3], confirms the result of Appelquist and Brodsky.
