Abstract
It is shown that the lattice gauge theory in three Euclidean dimensions is equivalent to a theory of locally interacting fermions. A Hamiltonian picture and a Lagrangian picture are derived and their relationship is discussed. The equivalent Fermi theory turns out to describe a theory of surfaces.
