Abstract

The α-decay half-lives of recently synthesized superheavy nuclei (SHN) are investigated by employing a generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) and Royer's analytical formula. The excellent agreement with the experimental data indicates the GLDM and the analytical formula are useful tools to investigate α-decay half-lives. The competition between α decay and spontaneous fission is analyzed in detail and α-decay half-lives and decay modes are predicted for the unknown nuclei Og293,295297.
