Abstract

I have investigated the possibility that the near vanishing of the proton strength of the 9.17-MeV state in N14 could be due to isospin mixing. If the two levels involved are at 9.17 and 8.98 MeV, the mixing intensity is 0.41(9) with a T-mixing matrix element of 94(10) keV. Some consequences of such mixing are examined.
