Abstract
New measurements of reaction cross sections for scattering of from H and C have provided a value for the radius of the neutron density distribution. By using the sensitivity of calculated radii to neutron configuration, I find that the fraction required to reproduce the new radius is , in agreement with an earlier estimate of 0.33(6). Calculations of relative cross sections for the reaction (in reverse kinematics) suggest a method to observe an expected excited state and to independently determine .
