Abstract
By using recent fusion cross section measurements for the weakly bound system around the Coulomb barrier, a simultaneous analysis of elastic scattering and fusion cross section data is performed. The analysis is carried out with optical polarization potentials for the fusion and direct reaction processes. That is, the nuclear polarization potential is split into a volume part which accounts for fusion reactions and a surface part that is responsible for direct reactions. The parameters of fusion and direct reaction Woods-Saxon polarization potentials are determined by the analysis of the data. The presence of the threshold anomaly is investigated from the energy dependence of these polarization potentials. It is found that, contrary to other weakly bound systems, the reaction presents the usual threshold anomaly.
