Preformation factor for α particles in isotopes near N=Z

Abstract

Combining the experimental α-decay energies and half-lives, the α-particle preformation factors for the nuclei around N=Z=50 are extracted within the generalized liquid drop model. It is found that the average order of magnitude of the preformation factor is 1.0×101. In addition, a detailed discussion on the odd-even effect of the preformation factor is performed.
