Abstract
The paper proposes a hybrid method for calculating scattering processes. It combines the -matrix method with exterior complex scaling and an absorbing boundary condition. The wave function is represented as a finite sum of oscillator eigenstates in the inner region, and it is discretized on a grid in the outer region. The method is validated for a one- and a two-dimensional model with partial wave equations and a calculation of -shell nuclear scattering with semirealistic interactions.
