Abstract
Using an average one-body potential of Woods-Saxon type and using the experimental occupation probabilities to incorporate correlations the parabolic variation of charge radii of even isotopes of Ca (A=40–48) has been reproduced. The parameters of the potential were optimized by reproducing the zeroth-order shell model states of . The details of the charge distribution has been evaluated by Fourier-Bessel analysis. The calculated values of rms radii are found to be in excellent agreement with the experiment.
