Absolute cross sections and isomeric cross-section ratios for the Nd148(d,2n), Nd148(p,n), and Nd146(α,pn) reactions producing the isomeric pair Pmm,g148

Abstract

Excitation functions and isomeric cross-section ratios were determined for the Nd148(d,2n), Nd148(p,n), and Nd146(α,pn) reactions producing the isomeric pair Pmm,g148. The experimental isomer ratios of 41.3-day Pmm148 (6-) and 5.37-day Pmg148 (1-) were compared with statistical model calculations wherein spin cutoff parameters μ were obtained assuming that σ is either independent or varying with excitation energy. The spin cutoff parameters and the effective moments of inertia deduced from these calculations were σ=4.2 and θ=0.70θr, respectively, for the reaction Nd148(p,n) Pmm,g148, and σ=3.9 and θ=0.65θr, respectively, for the reaction Nd148(d,2n) Pmm,g148.
