Abstract
Reduction in the total scattering cross sections of infinite and finite metal cylinders is demonstrated with numerical full-wave simulations of simple and realizable structures. The employed cloaking method relies on guiding the impinging electromagnetic fields around the cloaked cylinder, inside a periodic waveguiding structure composed of conical metal plates. Since the cloaking method does not rely on anisotropic materials or resonant inclusions, it is extremely simple and cheap to realize, and the obtained cloaking bandwidth is relatively wide.
