Abstract

A fully relativistic calculation of spin-resolved valence-band photoemission spectra for bcc FexCo1x alloys is presented that is based on the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker coherent-potential approximation method of band-structure calculation. The result for the spin-integrated spectra for unpolarized radiation was found to be in very satisfying agreement with corresponding experimental data. For the spin-resolved spectra a pronounced magnetic circular dichroism is predicted that should be observable in a corresponding experiment.
