Abstract

We have measured the specific heat of La1.8Sr0.2CuO4 between 4 and 60 K. We found a step in the specific heat ΔC(Tc)Tc=33 mJ/molK2, and a linear term at low temperatures with a slope γ=4±2 mJ/molK2. From these results we conclude that the Sommerfeld parameter for the conduction electrons is γ=18±2 mJ/molK2.
