Abstract

Single ionization by electron impact of the Se3+ ion is investigated in the Dirac-Fock-Slater approximation. Contributions from direct ionization (DI), excitation-autoionization, and resonant-excitation double-autoionization processes are taken into account. Good agreement with the experiment is obtained at the lower energies of the incident electron when the DI process is considered in the potential of the ionizing ion. On the other hand, the potential of the ionized ion has to be used for the higher energies of the electron. It is shown that ionization-ionization and ionization-excitation-ionization processes can play the significant role in the double ionization of Se3+ ions.
